Welcome Baby Dax!!!
On May 15, 2009 at 12:45pm we welcomed our son Daxon Ben Ford into the world. He was 8.5 lbs and 21.25 inches long. His labor story isn't what we had planned but we are very grateful that he is here and healthy. He was almost two weeks over due so I was being monitored every three days to make sure he was ok. I went in for a check up and he had turned and was breech, but I had plenty of fluid so we were hopeful that he would turn again. We tried external version, were the Doctor trys to turn the baby from the outside but it was unsuccessful. Two days later I started have contractions every 6 minutes they were painful but I had an appointment the next morning (5/15) to have my fluid levels checked so I decided to wait as long as I could. I made it to my appointment still have contractions. They checked my fluid and it was less than half what was supposed to be there. So I was in labor with low fluid levels and a breech baby. Not an ideal situation for natural child birth. An hour later we were in the OR having a C-section. Daxon is very healthy and so cute. When he was first born his little face was very swollen from being smashed up against a contracting uterus, but now he looks almost identical to Teagan! Teagan is crazy about her baby! she loves to hold him.

Yay! I am so happy that he is here and safe. I know how you feel about the c-section. I felt the same way when I had Riley. I had a bit of a meltdown when I found out I had to have one (an emergency c-section is not on my list of experiences I would like to enjoy again). But all is well that ends well. He is awesome! Congrats!!
Hey Mary Jo! Hope you don't mind I found your blog...but I have to say your baby is so cute! I'm sorry about the c-section, I think that is one of my worst nightmares that I hope never comes true. But what an awesome reward. Love the name, and what a cutie!
Oh, he is so cute. That sucks you had to have a c-section, but glad to hear everything turned out well. Congrats.
Congrats! He's totally adorable, just like Teagan! Glad everything is going well, despite the unforeseen circumstances! They just like to show you from day 1 who is in charge, right?
